Yet Another Disgrace...

They so often say, "Cleanliness is next to Godliness"...

....But, as a matter of fact, the above picture says, "Uncleanliness is next to our Father Of The Nation"..!

It is indeed, a matter of shame and disgrace that posters like this are subjected to dirt and filth... Well, this is in fact, the second time that posters encouraging cleanliness are themselves covered with squalor... The first time, it was a BMC poster...and now it is Mahatma Gandhi!

I guess it's high time we do something about this stuff... Why send out the wrong message to the common man with such pathetic posters and banners..?

What have you got to say about cleanliness in Mumbai and the actions taken for a better, cleaner Mumbai?

26/11 : Remembered

Mumbai, a city which is loved by many, has fallen victim to terrorism many-a-times. Why, how, why didn't it stop are still unanswered questions. A particular attack, the one which took place last year, was the worst ever. Bomb blasts were accompanied by hostiles, and they recked havoc for three days. At least 173 people were killed and at least 308 people were wounded.

Well, this attack shattered many lives, and harmed many more. It hurts to even think of that day, when our beloved city lay under siege, our media played with their lives, and jawans and policemen alike lost their lives.

Today, we would like to pay our respects to all of those who have had a share in rescuing the city, along with a prayer for every life lost. Every person, from the ones who gave the people on duty all of them, rations to survive, to the commandoes who went in the Taj, the Oberoi and Nariman House. We all grieve for the loss of all those people who have lost their dear ones, and salute those with proud hearts who saved us all (And since we are not politicians, you can believe that those feelings are from the heart).

So Citizens of India (Not Mumbai, after all, it is part of the whole), remember that day of your life, when your happy, alive city was sad, dead and learn from it. Act on it, be ever alert. And also, please do not entertain hoax calls, letters, or anything remotely related to 'hoax' — at least in this matter. I you do know or have seen someone doing so, do report them to the police. Do your bit, and we can help keep our country safe... at least a bit. Lastly, keep yourselves safe, and if such a situation should arise, do not run helter-skelter (it's natural, but we all go against nature all the time...), and try to evacuate as many people as you can with you.

P.S. : Hope the ones who lost their lives are staring with curiosity at their mothers right now and wishing for a reincarnation!

Well, that's all for me..and now my friend Parth would like to express his views and opinions about this topic...

26 November 2008 is a day I shall never forget in my life.

I remember watching all this news on television last year. The trauma, the tension and the fear...All were so very evident.  I can't imagine the plight of the people who were actually witnessing this nightmare.

All this stuff starts from the very core concept of terrorism. I believe the main mission of terrorism is to imbibe a kind of fear in every citizen not only of India, but also of the World...

But, in fact, we really have dirt-simple solutions for sweeping off terrorism off its feet. I recently read in a newspaper the following quote - Everybody's worried about stopping terrorism. Well, there's a very simple solution to it - Stop participating in it!

I don't know why...there's loads of stuff in my mind about 26/11 to speak on..but I just get numb, too numb to express anything...

All I wish to do is to salute the amazing spirit of Mumbai, a city where every terrorist activity is like a deep scar in our heads, and every show of solidarity and persistence is like covering up those scars and wounds and recreating Mumbai!

As we complete one year of the 26/11 attacks, let's ask ourselves whether we can bring a change in the society for the better. After all, we, as citizens have to maintain our society just like our residences and ensure that cockroaches (i.e. terrorists) are eliminated as soon as possible.

Well, just yesterday, on the completion of 1 year of 26/11, elaborate preparations were taking place at the Gateway of India. In the evening time, there were several peace rallies and processions... Everyone turned patriotic! Mediapersons came in hordes and streets were lined up with armed policemen and commandos. There was a very uplifting atmosphere and mixed feelings in the air...

...And the Taj Hotel seemed happy that day!

Finally...!

Hey Everybody!

So, after a really long long hiatus, I am back!

During this dry, update-less period, I was actually pestered by loads of people for not blogging. I guess they enjoy my work and hope you do, too! Anyway, I am very thankful to all my feed subscribers and Blogger Followers for supporting me throughout!

First of all, all through these days, I am working towards my international certification in Graphology! So, obviously, life has made me a little busy, but not unreachable. I do like enjoying my life, but I have no idea why blogging was not on my to-do list in the previous weeks.

Anyway, there's some good news for you guys out there... The Indian World blog is going to be much more active than it was earlier, all thanks to my resolve to blog and a new team member! Our new team mate is Swamini Joglekar, a say-it-all writer who had once written a guest post here. So, in spite of our college schedules, we have decided to give you an interesting and extraordinary dose on India on a somewhat regular basis.

So, guys, do stay updated to our upcoming posts and we are always looking forward to your comments, feedback and suggestions!
