Facebook is a wonderful social networking site. Making the most out of it with effective usage lies in our own hands. So, here are a few pointers on how you can enhance your experience at this hugely popular social networking site:
- Join Facebook Fan Pages and Groups. This will help you expand your knowledge base by interacting with other members. Engaging in fruitful discussions will definitely broaden your horizons in several ways. Managing Fan Page and Group updates can be a little challenging, though. Ensure that you join fan pages and groups only due to your interest and passion, and nothing else. Some interesting and extremely active Fan Pages on India are The Indian World, AwakIND and India Together.
- Share your knowledge with your friends. Engage in productive discussions through statuses, post updates and Facebook Chat. Here, 'productive discussions' doesn't mean rambling about your new dog, but sharing views with each other for an enriching experience. Remember this:
- Change your mentality of looking at Facebook. It is not a timepass site, but a platform for social networking. Make new friends, interact and enjoy the experience, but don't let it waste your precious time!
- Declutter your Facebook account. Delete all Fan Pages and Groups, which you would not like to be a part of. Also, defriend those whom you don't know...
- Enhance your feed sections, i.e. Top News and Most Recent feeds. This can be done by removing all stupid applications and permanently blocking them off.
