Signature Analysis of Sonia Gandhi

The elections are here! And many leaders are vying to get votes. One of them is Sonia Gandhi. I shall decode her signature and excavate her nature...

Mrs. Gandhi has a very strong desire for responsibilty. She wants to be needed by a large number of people and will need to be in a leadership role.

She is independent, determined and sometimes, stubborn. Her signature is a bit obscure. This means she has a hiding tendency.

She is a very good planner and an expert in making strategies i.e. political strategies. She is also a bit sensitive to criticism.

She can be careless at times, but is blessed with a good memory.

She is always cautious and controls her ideas. She can also be stressful.

She does not care for herself and depends on others for mental strength. If given a chance, she can concentrate on things well.

Signature Analysis of M.F.Husain

We all know M.F.Husain is a great and legendary painter. Here I will decipher his signature and find out what makes him such a fantastic artist....

First of all, he likes the simple and unadorned. He is straightforward in most of the things and his signature also indicates intelligence.

He is also a good listener and kindness is in his veins. He wants to be accepted by the people, in general.

He is a bit secretive and reserved. He is also honest and has an analytical mind. He has a tremendous concentration power and he can focus very well.

He writes his name in full. This helps him to express his creativity, talent and abilities with a lot of confidence. He may slow down a bit, but he will finish off things with perfection. That is the reason why most of his paintings have been masterpieces. He is also very open and authentic.

In spite of all these qualities, he doesn't give much importance to himself.

I couldn't analyze more stuff since this signature has perhaps, been painted.

I feel this round of elections has intimidated most of the politicians. That's so because they are facing the heat from various campaigns and initiatives of the people. These initiatives are proving to be an amazing platform to voice the common man's demands and grievances. Also, there's some strong censure on criminals-turning-politicians and vice versa!

I feel you must all check out these campaigns. So, here are a few initiatives armed with firm objectives and loud voices:
  1. Lead India
  2. Jaagore
  3. No Criminals

  5. Vote India (2)

The above mentioned initiatives also help to check whether candidates have had a criminal background or not. Besides that, you can also get to know more about the 2009 Elections.

10 Ways To Save Water

This is my fourth post in the '10 Ways To...' series. This time I shall take the opportunity to encourage all my fellow Indians as well as my foreign friends to save as much water as possible.

As the title suggests, here is my list of the 10 ways to save water:

  1. Use your washing machine only when it is filled to its total capacity. You can save about 4500 litres per month in this process. Besides saving water, this method is also helpful to save electricity.
  2. Avoid using a shower for bathing. Try using a bucket instead. This will help you save about 150-200 litres everyday.
  3. Turn off the tap while brushing and save more than 200 litres of water every month.
  4. Stop participating in Holi. As we all know, a massive quantity of water is wasted during this festival.
  5. Don't drink water if you are not thirsty.
  6. Use sprinklers to water the plants provided you have a large garden.
  7. Ensure that your home has no leakages. Also check whether all water bottles are closed properly.
  8. Use small glasses for drinking water. The smaller the container, the less consumption of water.
  9. Whenever you waste water, just think about those millions of people who still struggle to save every drop of water for their survival.
  10. Lastly, spread awareness regarding water conservation.
Well, do you have any more ways to save water?

How To Make The Most Out Of Movies

We all enjoy movies, don't we? They lighten our mood as well as entertain us.

Indians have a strong relationship with movies. Some of us are so crazy about films that we can consume several movies at a time!

But I have observed, people visit cinema halls for the sole purpose of entertainment. Well, this is not enough. I believe if you don't learn something from a particular movie, then even watching that movie is mere futility. All movies have something or the other to get inspired and motivated from. But we can't perceive it without removing the cloak of entertainment.

Have a mindset of eager curiosity and constant learning. This will help you throughout your life...and what better way to test it by watching movies? In fact, since movies are a reflection of the society we live in, they teach us some really wise principles.

If you respect and believe my perspective, here is a small task for you:
After you watch any movie, just ask yourself the following question - What have I learnt from this movie?

If you don't get an answer, it means you have lost your mental faculties and the ability to understand!

And if you truly get a reply, try implementing those advices in your life. It will do wonders for you and I assure, you will become wiser day by day...

So, the next time you plan to go to a cinema hall, don't forget to remember all what I've said!

10 Ways To Save Fuel

We all know India is facing a severe fuel crisis. In view of this, the PCRA (Petroleum Conservation Research Association) is encouraging fuel conservation with the help of advertisements.

So, being an Indian, I also thought of giving you a few pointers for saving fuel. Let me inform you that this is my third post in the '10 Ways To...' series.

In the following points, I have considered all transport vehicles as cars for generalization. So, here I go with my 10 tips for saving fuel:

  1. Visit a petrol pump only if your car has little or no fuel. I don't find any reason of buying fuel if your car already has sufficient fuel. This method shall directly or indirectly save valuable fuel of the respective petrol pump. You can bypass this advice in emergencies.
  2. Turn off your car in slow traffic and at traffic signals. It is estimated that you can save about 20% of fuel in this process.
  3. Minimize the use of brakes. The more frequently you apply brakes, the more fuel you spend. You can avoid braking by maintaining a constant speed of your vehicle.
  4. Encourage car pooling. This is a very effective way of saving fuel as well as reducing traffic on the roads.
  5. If possible, use electric-powered cars.
  6. Always insist on buying cars having an excellent mileage.
  7. Don't be a fan of Michael Schumacher! Drive at a constant speed. The faster you drive, the faster your fuel vanishes. Tests on Indian cars prove that you can get upto 40% extra mileage at 45-55 km/hr. as against 80 km/hr.
  8. Use public transport systems as much as possible.
  9. Place your right hand on your heart and say the following - "I solemnly swear that I will conserve fuel as much as possible and try to use it economically. I shall dedicate my mind, body, heart and soul for the conservation of fuel."
  10. Spread awareness for fuel conservation amongst your friends and relatives.

Well, I can think of only 10 suggestions. Can you add any more to the list?

10 Ways To A Happier India

A smiley by Pumbaa, drawn using a text editor.
This is the second post in the '10 Ways To...' series. This time I shall urge every Indian to make India a bit happier by their actions.

We all know problems like terrorism, poverty, unemployment, illiteracy, etc. have plagued India. Sadness should not be one of them. I feel every Indian has a right to be happy at any given time. So, here are 10 ways we can spread happiness and indirectly contribute to 'A Happier India':

  1. Smile at every person you meet.
  2. Encourage and motivate others to achieve their goals.
  3. Whenever a person does his work successfully, pat him on the back and remark, "You did a brilliant job!"
  4. Make others laugh, but don't insult anybody.
  5. At toll check posts, show your kindness by paying for the person behind you.
  6. Appreciate the work of policemen, waiters, autorickshaw drivers, sweepers, labourers, peons, maids, etc.
  7. Be loving and affectionate to the whole of India.
  8. Always be a 'good news' reporter.
  9. Let happiness radiate from your face.
  10. Use some basic expressions like 'Good Morning', 'Thank You', 'Sorry', 'Please', etc.

I think we Indians should implement the above guidelines as much as possible. This will make our country not only happy but also prosperous and successful in all aspects.

What are your views regarding this topic? Do you think the above methods will prove effective in transforming India into a happier one?

10 Ways To Save Electricity

I would like to introduce you to the '10 Ways To...' series. The number of posts in this series have not been decided, but I shall write in this series twice every week. Here is my first post in this series...

Did you know that according to a World Bank report, roughly 40 percent of residences in India are without electricity?

But, in a way, concepts like 'power cuts' and 'load-shedding' are not new. In fact, they have become an everyday routine. People in some parts of India live without electricity for 6-10 hours everyday. From the bottom of my heart, I feel we Indians don't deserve such ill-treatment. The only way to stop this menace is to save electricity. So, here are 10 ways I think shall prove very effective in saving electricity...

  1. You are reading this...it means you have a computer or a laptop and undoubtedly, a computer monitor. Whenever you feel that you won't be using your computer for about 15-20 minutes, please take the efforts to switch off the computer monitor. This will slim down your electricity bill significantly. If you turn off your monitor for a minute, a bulb can be lit in some remote part of India for about 2 minutes.
  2. Well, if you have a computer, you may also have a T.V set. If you are a person who hangs on to only 1 programme, you can put off the T.V. during ad commercials. For that, you must know the duration of the interval. This will ensure that you don't miss out anything of the programme!
  3. If you reside at an above sea-level region, minimize the use of fans. You can enjoy pleasant breezes by keeping all your doors and windows open.
  4. Try to switch off all your electrical appliances for at least half an hour everyday.
  5. If you are a millionaire, go solar. Try solar water heaters, solar cookers, solar cells, etc. And if you are not a millionaire, use renewable resources as much as possible.
  6. The most famous sentence I have ever heard - SWITCH OFF ALL FANS AND LIGHTS WHEN NOT REQUIRED.
  7. Don't take the above advice very seriously. You don't need to turn off a fan if you are going to use it after a minute or so and vice versa. If you do so, you will end up spending more electricity!
  8. Roam around (in your home!) every once in a while to ensure all electrical appliances are used only as per their requirements.
  9. Get paranoid about this trend. Let people call you 'The Electric Nerd' or 'The Complete Saver' or something similar.
  10. Spread the word. Make your family, friends and relatives aware of this. Encourage them to save electricity.
Well, I'm done with my 10 tips...do you have any more to add?

The Era Of Young Politicians

Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam once said,” If India is to become developed by 2020, it will do so only by riding on the shoulders of the young”. The youth are the future of India. They can divide India or place India at a position which even USA may envy.

India is incomplete without politics. But at the moment, politics is the one surrounded by vitriolic criticism. No wonder most of the Indians believe that politics is a game for the astute, by the astute and of the astute. We perceive politicians by their dwellings in ‘Lazy Leisures’ and fallacious promises. I think politicians descend on Earth only for greed, money and power. They turn away from social dilemmas with their most famous cliché – Some problems have no solutions. I strongly feel that whenever there’s no solution to a problem, then the problem cannot be called a problem. If politicians spend even a fraction of their energy required for aggressive campaigning for the welfare of the nation, then we can surely expect miracles! However, politics has had such a bad influence on people that my mom threatened to ostracize me when I thought of entering the politician’s game!

Contrary to usual political views, there are some conscious souls in the country who wish to make a difference. But is this always-desired difference a plausibility? It is quite a difficult process, but not entirely out of the question. There is an urgent need of a change in the governance and administration of our country. I think young political leaders are the ones who can bring about a change. I have high hopes pinned on them because they can lend a hand for a positive change in the current political system. I feel they are no way a means to lure young voters. Nevertheless, it is better to place young political leaders in the domain of optimism, than decorate them with the thorns of negativity and criticism. India certainly requires young blood to generate a productive change to modify the system into a people-friendly one. I believe the common, middle-class man can relate better with the young leader than the elderly politician whose days can end anytime! In this process, young politicians must be humble, kind and helpful to the masses. And if humility is not the virtue of the young leader, then I feel the future of India is definitely bleak.

Today, the politician in India is not known by the number of promises he fulfills, but by the number of criminal cases filed against him. They are famous for their gigantic assurances and miniature actions. In this background, the youth can stand up and make India an India which the World has never seen before. So, I assert," It’s all up to the youth!

Our (Namesake) National Pledge...

When was the last time you took the national pledge?
...
In fact, do you even know what the national pledge is?

The National Pledge of India is as follows:
India is my country.
All Indians are my brothers and sisters.
I love my country and I am proud of
its rich and varied heritage.
I shall always strive to be worthy of it.
I shall give my parents, teachers and all elders
respect and treat everyone with courtesy.
To my country and my people,
I pledge my devotion.
In their well-being and prosperity alone,
lies my happiness.

I used to take this pledge everyday for 10 years, at my school. But I never gave importance to it, until now.

I wish to explain you its relevance in this so-called modern India:-

India is my country.
Well, does that need any explanation?

All Indians are my brothers and sisters.
The biggest lie I have ever heard! I can't stop wondering why brothers would abuse, injure and kill themselves. And sisters don't backstab each other, do they?

I love my country and I am proud of its rich and varied heritage.
Oh...really? Then the next thing you will say is foreigners inscribe love signs and messages on national monuments, right?

I shall always strive to be worthy of it.
Should that be...I shall always strive to make my country unworthy of me?

I shall give my parents, teachers and all elders respect and treat everyone with courtesy.
Do you really know what respect and courtesy mean?

To my country and my people, I pledge my devotion.
Would that be a devotion to corruption and bribery?

In their well-being and prosperity alone, lies my happiness.
I guess nobody remembers the Gujarat riots of 2002..

Am I being too harsh? I am sorry, but this is the truth. But all is not lost, my friend. Hope all that you want.

And if you want to undo all that happened to your, mine and our country, GET UP...

GET UP...and vote in the upcoming elections. Don't vote for money, but for prosperity.

VOTE against all that you think is wrong...and wake up to see a DEVELOPED INDIA!

Don't Rely On Freedom Fighters!

We Indians are best friends of the past. It is an obvious fact that India is known for its legendary history. But I feel that Indians are too absorbed in the past glories. Read on to know what I mean....

The above picture displays the perfect example of an ideal freedom fighter. But, mind you, it does not teach people to cling to previous achievements.

I feel we all pay excessive attention to the past. Why don't we live in the present?

I think it's high time we attend the issues at stake. Dangerous shadows are looming over India. Why don't we see to these things first? There are problems like terrorism, poverty, illiteracy, etc. which need immediate attention.

This is your sole chance of being a fighter!

You don't fight for freedom, but against social evils like terrorism and poverty. Come on, my fellow Indians...show the World that India is not known only for its majestic history. India should also be known for its brave and determined people.

You can read my post on terrorism on the different ways to curb it. Hop on to this post to know about some ways to eradicate poverty.

I hope renewed energy will flow through everybody who reads this post.

The Rise of Globalisation

In real sense, globalisation has viciously eaten into the Indian domain. Consumerism has set in and there is an indirect exploitation of natural resources. I believe the Indian market is almost entirely dependent on this concept.

Just imagine - What if Indian economy is run only by foreign companies and multinationals?

The possibilities are endless. If there will be a less demand for Indian goods, especially the agricultural ones, then we are surely headed for doom. Less demand will discourage the farmers from growing crops. This in turn, will reduce the frequency of agriculture in our country. And when that happens, our food necessities will depend solely on foreign goods.

Globalisation is also a threatening factor which encourages colonialism. If India is not self-sufficient, we will have to give in to foreign demands, which will definitely put our sovereignty in danger.

India is currently facing a huge economic crisis. Thousands of jobs have been lost and another million are waiting for their extermination. If we want to stabilize our economy, we need to take immediate action. And that action should be the fall of globalisation.

This economic recession can end or maybe reduce in intensity, if we stop using foreign goods. In turn, we can buy Indian consumer products to satisfy our needs. This will surely strengthen our markets. Here is a list of Indian products you can use in place of their foreign counterparts:-
