52 degrees celsius only!!!

This is my room's airconditioner displaying a hilarous temperature......

What's say, people? Doesn't this make you laugh?

Anyway, just reflect on this for a while....

What do you think about this picture? My air conditioner's display may have gone haywire but it teaches us something so profound....

Just imagine...the year is 3050 and global warming as it its deadliest best....temperatures are soaring to about 70 degrees Celsius...and we all are burning...

So, in such a scenario, it won't be a surprise if you see 52 degrees Celsius in an air conditioner's display panel.....what's say, guys?

Global warming is coming real fast. It's high time we take necessary actions to prevent further damage...It's the question of OUR SURVIVAL!

Airtel 16 Mbps Broadband Ad Review

Now this ad has been doing the rounds for quite some time now...

...so I just thought of reviewing it!

The ad starts off with sort of a rush. I mean there are 7 different scenes shown in the first 10 seconds!

The ad catches the viewer's attention right from the start, thanks to the 'They say we are impatient' one-liner. All across the ad, there are dialogues which attract appreciation. Hats off to the screenplay and concept. The intent of the ad remains kind of a mystery till the end. And this is one of my personal favourites!

I am neither a reviewer nor a critic. But I think there is a drawback in this ad. I feel this drawback may even affect sales and marketing of this company.

The drawback goes as follows:

  1. First of all, have a look at the ad again.
  2. Observe the narration and the text....
  3. You will notice that '...with up to 16 Mbps of speed' has not been narrated.
I feel this is a drawback because the high 16 Mbps of speed has actually not been emphasised on. Had it been said with a lot of enthusiasm, perhaps Airtel Broadband could get more marketing and sales profits.

Anyway, this is my analysis of the nuances of this ad....

Now, what do you think about this ad? Do you agree with my perspective?

What have YOU learnt from 26/11?

It's been 6 months since those 60 hours of mayhem...

A lot of things have been told, heard and discussed about this shocking incident...But I want to ask you all a simple question - What have we learnt from 26/11?

I'll tell you what I've learnt...

  1. Post-26/11, I feet social discrimination still exists in India. People are categorized on the basis of class for distributing compensation. For instance, families of those deceased at CST got lesser compensation than those deceased at the Taj Hotel. Philosophers and politicians used to blabber that 'All men are equal'....now what? Do you call this equality?

  2. I used to earlier think that organizations like RAW and IB are the backbone of our nation's security...but after 26/11, I feel our intelligence department has no intelligence. In these years, our intelligence backup may have achieved a lot, but what about their failures? They may have intercepted a thousand phone calls, but it's completely futile if they don't act. I strongly believe that a lot of improvement is required in this department.

  3. "When terror strikes, the only thing that matters is one's life" - This is my perspective after some young and brainwashed guys created havoc not only in Mumbai, but in the whole world. You know it really pains to see death, suffering and terror in your backyard. So, I think it's time all of us, including the government, IAS, and every single person in this world tries to stop terrorism in every way possible.
I feel this is what I've learnt from 26/11...what have YOU learnt from this incident???

That Indelible Signboard...

Almost a month ago, when elections were the in-thing, I was travelling to Shimla with my parents by road.

Just as we entered Himachal Pradesh, I noticed shops and houses decorated with the same signboard.

The signboard read:
कृपया वोट माँगने से शर्मिंदा न करें |

The underlying message is very obvious - The people are really pissed off by the politicians. And they are not going to vote at all.

Do you think this is the right attitude? What are your views concerning this topic?

Fantastic Commentary on Elections 2009

Now that the Elections results are out...I want to reveal some comments on my blog posts. These comments are an indirect assault on the BJP and elections 2009...so have a look...

Prateek Mallapur said...
The politicians just give impossible promises before the elections and the Indians, mostly the village folks get lured by it. Now, a famous party has promised to pay Rs 1,00,000 to every Indian girl when she turns 18 of age. Now tell me, the money that they will pay is nothing but the taxpayers money. So, how can they enjoy the benefits of our money??? The whole bloody Indian system is wrong. All which was prevalent in the developed countries some 150 years ago is still continuing in India. Sometimes, one may also feel that the British rule was better than the politician's rule.

its hightime....we have all realised the need to "face" every big challenge...accomplish every promised goal..complete every unfishished task....and start everything from rubble....a vote is what is going to make our enormous population a resource....where each of us..will be instrumental in deciding who will lead us to the zenith of where india my nation deserves to be..its hightime we need an obama....and not any senior citizen in his eighties governing the largest democracy in the world with his outdated
superstitions..internal rivalry...and only"experience"...its tymm to us youth to take charge of our motherland....india proudly owns everything right from brilliance and imagination to resources and culture ,what we only lack is an awareness,an awareness to demonstrate our perspectives and prowess....an awareness to choose the right one....and thanks to ppl like u parth....not far from today....we shall overcome this little niche too....cheers to india....cheers to youngistaan!

India's Tryst With Terrorism

Do you think India is safe..???

I definitely think it isn't. Terrorism has striked our nation many times and here's a list of terror attacks after the year 2000:

6 December, 2002 - Mumbai (2 Killed, 28 Injured)
25 August, 2003 - Mumbai (52 Killed, 150 Injured)
27 January, 2003 - Mumbai (1 Killed, 28 Injured)
13 March, 2003 - Mumbai (10 Killed, 70 Injured)
28 July, 2003 - Mumbai (4 Killed, 32 Injured)
5 July, 2005 - Ayodhya (1 Killed, 3 Injured)
29 October, 2005 - New Delhi (62 Killed, 210 Injured)
7 March, 2006 - Varanasi (28 Killed, 101 Injured)
11 July, 2006 - Mumbai (209 Killed, 714 Injured)
11 July, 2006 - Srinagar (8 Killed, 37 Injured)
8 September, 2006 - Malegaon (37 Killed, 125 Injured)
18 February, 2007 - Panipat (68 Killed, 50 Injured)
18 May, 2007 - Hyderabad (12 Killed, 40 Injured)
25 August, 2007 - Hyderabad (30 Killed, 60 Injured)
26 November, 2008 - Mumbai (173 Killed, 308 Injured)
13 September, 2008 - New Delhi (30 Killed, 130 Injured)
13 May, 2008 - Jaipur (60 Killed, 200 Injured)
26 July, 2008 - Ahmedabad (57 Killed, 200 Injured)
25 July, 2008 - Bangalore (1 Killed, 20 Injured)

TOTAL: 20 BLASTS (852 Killed, 2518 Injured)

Can you believe the enormity of these statistics? It's really terrifying to know all these things, isn't it?

But this is proof that India is not at all safe and secure from terrorism...

Let us all join hands and pledge to drive away terrorism from our beautiful country. Let us all promise to compell our new government to inteoduce strict rules and regulations regarding security and defence issues.

Why Indian Media Needs A Renovation

Want to know the latest news?

Surf across news channels or browse the newspapers, right?

Indian media is the most powerful tool of communication...and if this tool is misused, subverted, drugged or spoilt...there shall be unprecedented consequences.

Have a look at my general take on the media:

The Indian Media knows much about the recent couple break-ups in the film industry, but are unaware of the impeachment of the President of Libya. They are the pundits when it comes to informing the public about nasty remarks made by the Page 3 elements but flunk in acquainting the common man with the latest decisions made in the Lok Sabha. Well, there are a few exceptions to this when it comes to news channels...But these exceptions are like gold dust.

You come across headlines in newspapers which shock you, puzzle you, interest you or even make you cry...but I personally feel newspapers should (or at least try) to be a bit positive and optimistic.

For example, if there is an IPL match between Delhi Daredevils and Mumbai Indians...and if the winner is Delhi Daredevils, then newspapers announce "Mumbai Indians lose by 5 wickets...or something". Why can't these guys be optimistic? Can't they publish the news as "Delhi Daredevils win by 5 wickets...or something"?

I believe no negative or disturbing news should be published on the front page of any newspaper....you may disagree with me because of the hype these newspapers make...but anyway, people are used to this curiosity for disturbing things, right?

I have observed people discuss and gossip more about murders, rapes, kidnappings, assaults, etc. rather than talking about the latest developments in science and technology. Do you know the reason behind this strange mentality of people? The reason is that we get influenced from newspapers who like promoting cruel and shocking news.

News channels are also not too behind in this race. They love Bollywood gossip more than Manmohan Singh's speech...so they broadcast what they love. As a result, people don't become aware and alert of their surroundings.

For all these reasons, I strongly feel that the Indian Media deserves a renovation!

Do you agree with me on this topic? Or do you think the media is better left untouched?

Just say what you want to say in the comments section...I would love to hear your views and opinions.

5 Paradoxes Of Our India

Do Indians really think?

Yes..?? No..??

Forget it, now, I am going to make all my Indian readers think...and think hard!

Here are 5 paradoxes of India that will keep you busy thinking for a long time:

  1. Why is hockey, the national game of India, always boycotted and cricket, the British game, treated as a religion?
  2. Mahatma Gandhi, the God of Honesty is residing in the biggest and the most common factor of Dishonesty and Corruption - a currency note.
  3. Mumbai, where Mukesh Ambani is personally funding the world's largest private residence, is also home to Dharavi, Asia's biggest slum, that shelters over 1 million people. - source
  4. India is known for her majestic culture, yet we Indians look out for Western fashion and style.
  5. Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam had so perfectly said, "An ignited mind is the most powerful resource on the earth, above the earth and below the earth." We are a nation of a billion ignited minds...yet we think about developing USA by working there. Why?

Don't you feel these things make you think real hard?

Just ponder on these realities...and pour your suggestions in the comments section.

5 Evident Climate Changes Due To Global Warming

I have been observing climate changes very closely. It's disappointing to assert that India, too has been affected by global warming.

Some evident climate changes are as follows:

  1. Long dry spells during monsoons. Since a couple of years, there has been rainfall only for a month or so.

  2. Strong heat waves across the country. It's tremendously hot this summer. People have died due to heat waves in North India.

  3. Strange behaviours during winter. Sometimes, during winter, it's extremely hot. It actually doesn't seem cool, but smog is increasing day by day.

  4. Unpredictable nature of rainfall. There are reports of slight rainfall this summer in some parts of India.

  5. It's the hottest this summer! I think this summer is the hottest Indian summer ever...

What do you think about climate changes in India? Do you agree with me and do you feel India is really getting affected due to global warming?

Just drop in your views in the comments section...

Handwriting Analysis of Preity Zinta

This time I am going to analyze Preity Zinta's handwriting...

Preity is a very family person. She can sacrifice anything for her family. This is evident from her signature - she does not write her full name.

She is a down-to-earth person as well as very practical. She can also be moody at times.

She tends to procrastinate things at times. She is also a very visual person, which means she visualizes all her ideas in pictures.

She is very secretive in nature. Besides being energetic, she is also a short-tempered person.

She tries to be very cautious in dealings and transactions.

She doesn't come across as a confident individual.

Well, I am done with my analysis....but I need your help. Please suggest me a few famous people whose analysis you would like to know...

God: Captured In Lens!

Many scientists, philosophers and thinkers debate about the existence of God. However, this topic has no logical end...

So, do you believe God exists? If yes, can you prove it? And if no, can you prove it?

This modern world demands a lot of proof and evidence, thus every statement you make must actually make sense.

In this post, I am going to prove the existence of God! Believe it or not, I have also photographed God! Seems interesting..?? ...then read on...

First of all, I want to show you how God looks...in reality, there are infinite forms of God. But there is only 1 God...

The following pictures are that of The Supreme Being:

Confused? Shocked? Puzzled? Astonished? Read on for the explanation...

Let me clarify 1 universal thing - There is God in every one of us.

Here's the proof:
Let us take any body part, for instance, the heart. What's in the heart? Tissues, muscles, nerves...right? To be very specific, there are molecules and atoms...And in these atoms, there is ENERGY.

We all know 'Energy can neither be created nor destroyed, it can only be transformed from one form to another'.

Similarly, how do you define GOD? I define it as 'God can neither be created nor destroyed, it can only be transformed from one form to another'.

Did you get it? ENERGY = GOD

This means there is God in every cell, molecule, tissue, muscle, etc. of our human body.

Let me get back to my clarification - There is God in every one of us. Every time we think bad of others, injure others mentally or physically...or think malice, we are actually insulting The Supreme Being and The Creator.

Think as if you are in heaven and there are Gods around you...be kind, compassionate, grateful, polite, sweet and friendly to everybody you meet. Because when you act good to people, you are, in fact, respecting God.

Well, this is my perspective of God. I welcome your views and suggestions regarding this controversial topic.

So, on a lighter note, should we sing 'Tujh Mein Rab Dikhta Hai' (Translated As: I see God in you)?!

India's Biggest Shame!

Well, this is India's biggest shame ever...

Did you know there are more than 231 million hungry people in our country???

I just got this piece of news from an article which also says:
India has many things to be ashamed of - entrenched corruption, pathetic basic infrastructure, frequent communal violence, abject poverty and chronic hunger of its many poor millions, to name just a few.But nothing is more shameful than the growing number of chronically hungry or undernourished people in the country.
According to the Food and Agriculture Organization, India has the maximum number of chronically hungry people in the world.
For the 2003-2005 period, India had 230.5 million undernourished people. That’s nearly 31 million more than in the 1995-97 period.
This means that 21% of India’s 1.12 billion people were undernourished in 2003-2005, same as in the 1995-97 period, according to the FAO’s The State of Food Insecurity in the World 2008.
The FAO puts the total number of hungry people in the world at 923 million in 2007, significantly higher than the figure of 848 million in 2003-05.

I am so disheartened after reading this...there's frustration, anger, helplessness and an urge to kill everybody responsible for this...
What do you have to say regarding this topic? Don't you think it's high time for us to actually wake up and act?

The Return of The Great Nehruvian Speech

62 years ago, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru said something...

What he said is now ignored, forgotten or maybe boycotted...

On 15th August, 1947, he gave a speech popularly known as the 'Tryst with destiny'.

That speech was one of the most optimistic speeches ever heard...that speech didn't consist of the cheap and immoral talk of the politicians.....and still that long-lost speech was given only some name-sake significance, I guess.

Elections 2009 - A lot has been said, heard and understood. There was emphasis on the value of each, tiny and powerful vote.

Anyway, before we mould (or try to mould) our country into a developed one after elections, I want to recommend something to all my Indian friends; to all those billion Indians who have been exhausted complaining and criticizing...and who want to see a different India!

I strongly recommend you to read the divine and historic speech, 'Tryst with destiny' by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.

I assure you that this speech is the need of the hour! Read the speech and motivate and empower yourself...!
